LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. And not just because the authors name happens to be Kat. It is not your typical romance formula of: girl meets boy, girl falls in love with boy, girl tries to get boy to love her, they fall in love and live happily ever after. Nope not this one. From Fake to Forever actually starts with the couple already married, and they are looking for a divorce.
After one crazy night, and lots of tequila, a pair of strangers make the choice to get married the day they meet. When they wake up, they realize it is a mistake. After an awkward morning, they toss the marriage license into the trash without filing it. Vowing never to speak of this crazy bad choice ever again, and go their separate ways.. Two years go by, without so much as a text. Then fate steps in and forces them back together.
From the back of the book:
“After one night of tequila and sex, their impromptu Vegas wedding shouldn’t be valid. But Meredith Chandler-Harris just discovered she’s still tied to irresistible businessman Jason Lynhurst. She needs out of their marriage, but to become his company’s new CEO, he needs her as a bride. Let the newlywed games begin.”
I loved that the story is basically written backwards, it is such a new twist on the classic romance story. Also, it is a step out of the main-stream rough sex books that seem to be everywhere lately. It is a a slower romance that builds the characters and their affections naturally. While they might have had one crazy lust filled night, they both certainly knew that they weren’t in love. They seemed to work through their issues as people would, not just solving it with a good romp between the sheets. Over all I really liked it, it was cute and I genuinely liked the characters as well as, the plot.
When you read a romance book, what are you looking for? Do you like the more main stream books in the genre at the moment?
