Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." His words continue to inspire and remind us to dream big for a better future.

One way to celebrate MLK Day with your kids is to make a dream jar craft. This simple activity can help inspire your children to think about their own dreams and aspirations, while also learning about the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Here's how to make a dream jar:
Materials:
  • Glass jar with a lid (such as a mason jar)
  • Glitter glue or glitter paint
  • Scissors
  • Construction paper
  • Pen or marker
Instructions:
  1. First, decorate the jar with glitter glue or glitter paint. You can use a brush or sponge to apply the glitter, or simply add a few drops to the inside of the jar and swirl it around to coat the sides.
  2. Cut out small squares or circles from construction paper, and have your child write down one of their dreams or aspirations on each piece of paper. You can also write down quotes or inspiring words to add to the jar.
  3. Place the papers in the jar, and close the lid.
  4. Display the dream jar in a prominent place in your home, such as on a shelf or mantle, as a reminder to your child to always dream big and never give up on their goals.

This MLK Day dream jar craft is a fun and meaningful way to celebrate and honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. while also inspiring your children to think about their own dreams for the future.
